Last Tuesday, November 27, SuperFrio officially opened its unit in Vera Cruz (SP), a municipality located in the region of Mar\u00edlia. The unit, which required R$ 25 million in investments, has a capacity of 38,000 m\u00b3, arranged in 5,600 positions \u2013 with pallet-lift and drive-in storage modalities \u2013, has 12 docks, six chambers, three antechambers and 13 meters of right foot. It is worth remembering that the building serves operations of frozen, cooled, air-conditioned and dry products. On site, in addition to storage, the company also offers a transport service.<\/p>\n
The new logistics plant arrives to distribute products to small retailers located in the northwest region of the state of S\u00e3o Paulo. The expectation is that 20 customers in the food segment will carry out their movements from Vera Cruz. According to SuperFrio's regional manager, Andr\u00e9 Lima, when fully operational, the structure will move 800 tons per day, with 130 employees. The forecast is that these indexes will be reached in the second quarter of next year.<\/p>\n
Expectations regarding revenues are positive. Without revealing consolidated numbers, Lima estimates that Vera Cruz represents between 8% and 12% of SuperFrio's business.<\/p>\n
There are also expansion plans. SuperFrio's Business Development director, Lu\u00eds Martinez, reveals that the newly opened structure in the interior of S\u00e3o Paulo makes it possible to increase the operational area to up to 18,000 positions. There are, however, no established deadlines for the expansions.

First company to occupy the unit, Aurora \u2013 which in this way also establishes the first consolidated operation with SuperFrio \u2013 uses the structure of the logistics operator to compose and start the second stage of its logistics restructuring project for the entire interior of S\u00e3o Paulo. Started three years ago by the industry, the action discontinued one of its own distribution centers in S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 do Rio Preto, but promoted the inauguration of two, in Campinas and Bebedouro.<\/p>\n
Aurora's Corporate Logistics manager, Ricardo Souza, explains that the company reassessed the distribution network and Vera Cruz, also chosen for its geographic location, arrives to serve around 45 municipalities. \u201cWe are already moving 1,500 t per month, but we have the capacity to double operations\u201d, he says. The food industry currently occupies three chambers \u2013 frozen, chilled and dry items \u2013 for a total of 1,000 positions.<\/p>\n
The reduction in transit time for fractional loads delivered to small retailers is already being felt. \u201cPreviously, we served the northwest of the state in two days from Bebedouro. We improved our level of service, we have more flexibility in the movements and we gain one day in the delivery\u201d, he highlights.<\/p>\n
The expansion in the profile of the customer served in the region is also being studied at Aurora thanks to the SuperFrio unit in Vera Cruz. Souza does not reveal details, but says that, now, it will also be possible to serve large supermarket chains, in addition to wholesalers, who demand large-volume deliveries.<\/p>\n
