Representatives of the main 'players' in the world market of the cold storage sector participated in the last October 18th of the Cold Chain Symposium 2018, held in São Paulo by the partner associations Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) and Associação Brasileira da Indústria de Armazenagem Refrigerated (ABIAF). The event brought together around 100 participants at the Blue Tree Premium Faria Lima Hotel, including suppliers of products and services for the sector.
Francisco Moura, chairman of the board of GCCA Brasil and ABIAF and CEO of SuperFrio, hosted the event, and presented an analysis of the current Brazilian cold storage capacity. Corey Rosenbusch, CEO of GCCA Global, provided information on the growth and profitability of the global market.
The chairman of the board of GCCA Global and CEO of the largest supply company in Canada, Versacold, Doug Harrison, participated in the international panel, which also included explanations by Manuel Kabana, director of the company Friopuerto, and David Palfenier, president of Emergent Cold in Brazil. Fábio Fonseca Filho, president of Grupo Friozem and vice president of GCCA Brasil/ABIAF, acted as moderator.
Rafael Gentile, Supply and Logistics manager at Bloomin'Brands, the company that owns the Outback Steakhouse, Abbraccio and Flemmings brands, addressed the network's logistics challenges and solutions, and presented the business perspectives for 2019.
The director of the Association's Food Safety and Regulation Committee, Vivianne Paiva Moreira Leite, explained the work she has been developing with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, in search of a reform in the sanitary regulations applied to the sector.
During the symposium, participants had access to market launches, presented by Danfoss, Bertolini Sistemas de Armazenagem, Alvenius, Tyco Fire Protection, Lockton Seguros, Mayekawa do Brasil – Mycom, Guntner, Assist Software, Valfilm and Emerson Automation Solutions, which sponsored the event.
