Expansion of SuperFrio's footprint in the interior of the state of PR strengthens its presence in the largest poultry and pig producing region in Brazil, and opens opportunities for new operations in agribusiness and distribution to the Western Region of Paraná.
SuperFrio, a company controlled by Patria Investimentos, and one of the leaders in the refrigerated logistics industry in South America, today announced the acquisition of EspaçoFrio's Cascavel/PR unit. The transaction strengthens SuperFrio's presence in the largest poultry and pig producing region in Brazil; the region is also one of the largest fish producers in the country and a major consumer of corn and soybean seeds – another important market served by the company.
The Cascavel/PR unit, which from today will operate under the SuperFrio brand, is recognized by customers as a reference in quality of services provided and customer service. With a capacity of 12,000 pallets, about 70,000 m3, the warehouse has qualifications to move and store products of animal origin for the domestic and foreign markets – European Union, Russia, among other countries.
The strategic acquisition of EspaçoFrio's Cascavel/PR unit, the 11th Unit of SuperFrio, represents an important milestone in the company's strategy, whose vision is to be the first option in refrigerated logistics in South America by 2023.
“This acquisition comprises two strategic components of high relevance to our long-term plan: we strengthen partnerships with the company's current customers and initiate new relationships; and we add to our team a team that is admittedly excellent in refrigerated logistics”, said Francisco Moura, CEO of SuperFrio. “Our growth plan will continue to be guided by strengthening the relationship with our customers, and we will undertake organic expansions and acquisitions to meet needs not currently met by the market. In 2019, in addition to the acquisition of the Cascavel/PR unit, we built a new unit in Ribeirão Preto and will deliver three new units by August – in Garuva-Itapoá/SC, Cambé-Londrina/PR and Ribeirão Preto/SP, reaching the mark of 14 units”.
