Twelve months after the acquisition of the Salvador unit, SuperFrio enables the expansion and will double the unit's current temperature-controlled storage capacity
The supermarket chain Atakadão Atakarejo, a pioneer in the segment in the state of Bahia, and SuperFrio, a company controlled by Pátria Investimentos, and leader in the refrigerated logistics industry in South America according to the IARW, signed a long-term agreement at the end of 2020, which will support the growth plan of both companies in the region.
The logistics center in Salvador will double its temperature-controlled storage capacity after the expansion. Currently, the capacity of 52,000 m³ or 6,000 pallets will be doubled, thus reaching 104,000 m³ or 12,000 pallets, with a focus on supplying the entire metropolitan region of Salvador, in addition to other cities in the Northeast region of the country.
“We are very pleased with the investment and innovation capacity demonstrated by the entire SuperFrio team. It will be an unprecedented solution for both the retail market and the logistics operator market. We chose SuperFrio as our strategic partner to support us in the aggressive expansion plan that we will have in the coming years”, says Frederico Andrade, distribution center manager for the Atakadão Atakarejo chain.
“The Superfrio arrived in Salvador in March 2020 and in less than 12 months the unit will begin its expansion, thus doubling its service capacity. The unit stands out for the quality of its structure and its level of service, serving the various market segments, with emphasis on dairy and retail companies. The local market longs for this new infrastructure, as the expansion will include refrigeration system technology as a major competitive advantage, simultaneously enabling energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact”, says Geraldo Góes, SuperFrio's commercial manager.
“We will remain focused on growing together with our customers, either organically or through acquisitions, always inspired by our Vision: To be the first option in refrigerated logistics solutions in South America, by 2023”, emphasizes Francisco Moura, CEO of SuperFrio.
SuperFrio already operates in the states of São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Bahia, Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, with a strong presence in the agribusiness, food service, industrialized food, distribution, retail and export and import markets.
