SuperFrio announces another refrigerated logistics center in Mato Grosso, starting operations in May/2021

With an initial capacity of 50,000 m³ and investments of R$ 30 million, the DC located in Cuiabá will initially serve Bayer, a local agribusiness power

SuperFrio, a company controlled by Pátria Investimentos, and leader in the refrigerated logistics industry in South America, according to IARW, announced its second unit (CGB) in the state of Mato Grosso. This will be the company's 24th refrigerated logistics center in Brazil, and the 3rd in the Midwest region. The company already operates other refrigerated logistics centers in Campo Verde/MT and Campo Grande/MS in addition to in-house operations at the Bayer unit also located in the municipality of Campo Verde.

The logistics center in Cuiabá will initially offer logistical solutions for customers in the seed industry. Bayer, a global agribusiness powerhouse, will concentrate its operations in Mato Grosso at the new SuperFrio DC. With an area of around 5,000 m², and an initial installed capacity of 7,000 pallets, equivalent to 50,000 m³ of storage, the logistics center will begin operations in May 2021. Work began in September last year.

“We are looking forward to starting operations with Superfrio in Cuiabá. We understand it to be an important partnership for us to continue serving our customers in Mato Grosso.”, comments Elton Alves, Bayer's logistics coordinator for the North Region.

According to the commercial manager of SuperFrio's Agro vertical, Josiane Galocio, the refrigerated logistics center is part of SuperFrio's strategic plan to offer integrated logistics solutions to its customers in the main food producing and consuming regions of the continent.

“The CD will have an exceptional location, Rod. Dos Imigrantes, Km06. The state-of-the-art infrastructure will include a large antechamber, a planned layout for intense operations and picking, patios and areas for reprocessing and vehicle parking. The technology of the refrigeration system is a great competitive advantage, simultaneously enabling energy efficiency and reducing the environmental impact”.

BY's state-of-the-art WMS and SuperFrio's SGI (Integrated Management System), which includes ISO 45001 and 14001 standards – global references in health, safety and environment, will support the DC's operations.

SuperFrio's Commercial Director, Vinicius Falcão, also highlights the DC expansion plan for the 2nd half of 2021 and 2022:

“The Cuiabá region has enormous potential to be explored, so we decided to acquire land that would allow us to quadruple the initial capacity. In addition to the seed market, our plan is to invest in frozen and cooled chambers in 2021, to serve customers in the retail, food service and food industry markets. We own the property, which allows us agility and flexibility in expansions”.

The CEO of SuperFrio, Francisco Moura, also informs that 5 more refrigerated logistics centers should be built by the company in the Midwest and North regions, in the coming months.

“We will remain focused on growing together with our customers, either organically or through acquisitions, always inspired by our Vision: To be the first option in refrigerated logistics solutions in South America, by 2023”, emphasizes Francisco Moura, CEO of SuperFrio.

SuperFrio already operates in the states of São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Bahia, Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, with a strong presence in the agribusiness, food service, general storage, distribution and export and import markets.
